JT and Yung Miami have both moved on from their days as a duo in City Girls. But they’ve been relatively hush-hush about the breakup—until now.
In separate interviews, they finally addressed the split. JT, speaking to Complex, shared that the mutual decision to go solo made sense for both of them. She emphasized that there were ‘no hard feelings’ over the split.
‘I’m like Tina Turner, I’m still a City Girl. I need my name. That’s the biggest thing about me, I can’t ever get away from being a City Girl,’ JT said. ‘But I feel like it just made so much sense for both of us in the direction that we was going and things that we were focusing on.’
Meanwhile, in the latest episode of ‘Caresha Please,’ Yung Miami opened up about their relationship’s evolution. ‘We outgrew each other,’ she said. Yung Miami explained that their differing locations—JT in L.A. and her in Miami—made it tough to connect.

‘We was in two different head spaces,’ Yung Miami continued. ‘The way we dressed was different. Whenever we tried to get together, it just didn’t connect.’ Even on the road, the duo kept their distance, each having separate dressing rooms and glam teams.
‘When we’d be on tour, she got her own dressing room, I got my own dressing room,’ Yung Miami revealed. ‘JT’s riding with her own glam team, I’m riding with my own glam team. When we get on the stage and do our routine, that was probably the only interaction we had.’
Additionally, Yung Miami addressed her past relationship with Diddy, sharing that despite his recent troubling allegations, he was not physically violent with her. ‘I can’t speak on something that wasn’t my experience, and I can’t speak on something that I don’t know,’ she said about the accusations against Diddy.
The City Girls may have split, but both JT and Yung Miami seem at peace with their decision, focusing on their individual paths without any bad blood.
