Machine Gun Kelly, the Cleveland hitmaker, shared some surprising news on Bunnie XO’s Dumb Blonde podcast: he’s officially one year sober. During his European tour last year, he quietly checked himself into rehab and has since seen significant benefits.

The revelation came during a nearly two-hour conversation where MGK stated, “I’m completely sober from everything. I don’t drink anymore. I haven’t drank since last August.” He kept his decision mostly to himself, only telling those closest to him. It was his first time going to rehab, and it’s clear that it made a massive difference in his life. He expressed his joy, saying, “I’m really happy when I’m clear and me and my daughter are having our conversations, and I’m coming from a place of being centered and holding space for what a child needs from their parent. Both of my feet are on the ground and I’m unstoppable.”

MGK didn’t just quit alcohol; he also stopped using weed, hydrocodone, Percocet, and even snorting Vyvans. Rehab offered him tools to manage his anger and understand his triggers better. “I learned so many ways to operate my body and show where my anger is coming from and the methods to quell it,” he added.

In more positive news, Machine Gun Kelly recently squashed his beef with fellow rapper Millyz. The two had a tense confrontation in Ohio, but after an intense backstage chat, they made peace. According to a video, Millyz was heard saying, “My boy. Respect,” after their conversation, and they ended the encounter on good terms.

Machine Gun Kelly’s journey to sobriety and newfound peace, both personally and professionally, marks a significant turn in his life. His willingness to seek help and make amends bodes well for his future.
