Drake is reportedly cooking up a new project with Griselda producer Conductor Williams, and it might be dropping sooner than you think!
The buzz started on Wednesday, July 31, when Hot 97’s Ebro Darden spilled the tea. He mentioned, ‘Drake is dropping a project at some point this year — that’s the rumor,’ with his co-host Laura Stylez chiming in, ‘I heard that it’s coming sooner than we think.’
Peter Rosenberg added more fuel to the fire by saying, ‘I also heard he has a whole project’s worth of music done with Conductor Williams which is very Hip Hop-y.’
Fans of Drake might remember that this isn’t their first rodeo together. Conductor Williams, known for his collaborations with Westside Gunn, Conway The Machine, and more, previously worked with Drake on his 2023 album and its deluxe edition. Williams lent his skills to tracks like ‘8AM in Charlotte’ and ‘Stories About My Brother.’
Drake has been hinting at a return to music ever since his feud with Kendrick Lamar died down earlier this summer. There’s been lots of speculation among fans that Drake is plotting his comeback, especially with some pop-oriented tunes to win over more listeners.
Akademiks, a notable media personality, has been hyping up Drake’s return too. He said on social media last month, ‘All u n-ggas who been acting like Drake finished… bookmark this tweet for 6 months from now. We don’t want u n-ggas no where near us…Remember that.’ He also teased, ‘and yes.. enjoy all the other noise and bs.. Drake new music otw. and its fye…. trust.’
Akademiks didn’t stop there. He hinted that Drake might be throwing some subtle shade at Kendrick in new songs, now that the beef has settled. ‘It’s sneak dissing time. It’s really never over. I can’t wait to hear the first sneak diss,’ he mentioned in a recent stream on Rumble. However, he admitted, ‘I won’t even tell y’all what I heard but the first sneak diss Drake got that’s dissing Kendrick, how he positions it, that’s going to be interesting.’
Drake’s feud with Kendrick seemed to end after releasing ‘The Heart Part 6,’ which wasn’t well-received by fans and critics. The track is now deleted from social media. Drake also hasn’t responded to Kendrick’s Pop Out concert, where Kendrick performed several diss tracks including the hit ‘Not Like Us’ and even brought out former Drake allies YG and NBA star DeMar DeRozan.
With rumors swirling and anticipation building, fans are eager to see what Drake and Conductor Williams have been cooking up. If the buzz is to be believed, it won’t be long before we get to hear it.
