Will Smith has just made movie history in Saudi Arabia!
His latest film, ‘Bad Boys: Ride or Die,’ is now the highest-grossing movie ever in the country. This fourth installment of the Bad Boys series has earned $23 million at the Saudi box office, surpassing ‘Top Gun: Maverick.’
Globally, the movie has been a massive success, raking in nearly $400 million since its release in early June. To celebrate this milestone, Smith took to Instagram, exclaiming, “WOOOWWW!!! @badboys Ride or Die just became the BIGGEST movie of ALL TIME in Saudi Arabia!! SHUKRAN, LAKUM.”
Smith shared behind-the-scenes photos and videos with his co-star Martin Lawrence from their press tour in Saudi Arabia. In one clip, Smith enthusiastically says, “That was spectacular. We have made history. First-ever Hollywood premiere in Saudi Arabia. The Bad Boys have come and delivered. This is amazing. Saudi, all love.”
In addition to his movie success, Will Smith has something else exciting in the works. He’s dropping his first album in almost 20 years. In an interview shared by the Instagram account Black Film Allies, Smith discusses this deeply personal and powerful music project, which he describes as, ‘Dance in your darkest moments.’
Supported by two singles, the uplifting gospel anthem ‘You Can Make It’ and the Russ-assisted ‘Work of Art,’ Smith’s new album is set to make waves. He recently performed ‘You Can Make It’ at the BET Awards, showcasing his musical versatility.
This new project marks his first music release since 2020, when he teamed up with Sean Paul on ‘Light Em Up.’ With his classic swagger, Smith rapped, ‘Back in this bitch like I never left / The Devil came for me, should have worn a vest / You thought I lost something, I ain’t miss a step / You want some old me? Say less.’
