  • She describes the comments as disrespectful and hurtful.
  • Blockstar, now released from juvenile detention, blames the media for exploiting his story.

In a heartfelt session with TT Torez on Hot 97, Audrey Jackson, Pop Smoke’s mother, discussed the callous comments made by King “Blockstar” Raskel. Raskel, one of the alleged killers, had openly stated he wasn’t sorry for the rapper’s demise.

Jackson revealed she avoids such interviews deliberately, saying, “I’m not tuned into that. It’s not a part of my world. I have people who will come and say, ‘Have you heard?’ They’ll hit me up and say, ‘Ma, you okay?’”

Expressing her feelings, Audrey shared, “I felt a way when you just said he was being disrespectful because I’ve been told he’s been interviewing and being disrespectful. I gotta let that go because that’ll eat me up. I gotta’ let that go.” She emphasized the futility of Raskel’s position: “The bottom line is, your life is over. His life Is finished. He’s living, but if that’s his approach to what he’s done, life is done for him.”

Earlier this month, Raskel had appeared on No Jumper, fresh out of juvenile detention. He stated, “I’m not sorry about nothing. It should’ve never happened, but I ain’t sorry. If I could go back, I’d go back. But I ain’t sorry. People die every day. [Pop Smoke] was rapping about it. All types of stuff. So, I ain’t sorry about it.”

Despite sending condolences to Pop Smoke’s family, Raskel reiterated his lack of regret, saying, “Growing up, my people, my family told me, ‘You ain’t sorry for nothing. Whatever you did, you did it for a reason and stand on it.’”

Raskel later accused No Jumper of exploiting his story for their own gain.

Meanwhile, Corey Walker, the only person charged as an adult in Pop Smoke’s murder, is set for a new trial date after failing to reach a plea deal. Jury selection is scheduled for August 6.

Audrey Jackson must continue to endure the pain as the justice system proceeds with the case.
