Drake didn’t shed a tear during his beef with Kendrick Lamar, according to his close friend Gordo.
- The beef didn’t faze Drake one bit, even making him appear more cheerful.
- Despite internet speculations, Drake was living his best life while on his tour.
- Social media made it seem like Drake was sad, but Gordo says those were just bad photos.
- The beef took an unexpected twist, transitioning into the world of video games.
Drake apparently didn’t break a sweat throughout the entire beef with Kendrick Lamar and was even quite happy during that time, according to his close collaborator, Gordo. The producer, formerly known as Carnage, mentioned that Drake was unbothered by the internet buzz. Instead of stressing, Drake seemed relieved and happy, especially during his tour.
Gordo shared with PEOPLE, “He’s been past it. The thing is that he was just on the longest tour ever. He literally did a tour for like a year. I think he’s just chilling.” He continued to emphasize that ever since the beef started, Drake appeared happier. “It’s really weird. He’s pretty jolly… The internet makes it seem like, ‘Oh, that photo, he’s all sad and shit.’ That’s just a bad photo from a bad camera. But because it’s him, it’s put under a magnifying glass like, ‘Oh, look at his eyes. He’s looking a little droopy. He hasn’t slept.’ But the guy’s been happy as shit, to be honest. He’s chilling.”
While Drake moved on, fans and followers weren’t ready to let go. The beef found a new stage in the gaming world. It all began with Kendrick’s chart-topping diss song “Not Like Us,” which was transformed into a popular computer game.
In this 8-bit game, users play as K.Dot and hit owls with a club. This is a nod to the piñata scene in the song’s video. Days later, a counter-game was released, inspired by Drake’s diss track “Family Matters.” In this game, players aimed Grammy Awards at Kendrick’s mouth, echoing a lyric from Drake’s track.
The drama intensified when Richie Branson, the developer of the “Not Like Us” game, hinted at another game tied to Kendrick’s earlier diss, “Meet the Grahams.” He teased his followers on X, saying, “[S]hould I clap back with a ‘Meet The Grahams’ game or nah? lmao.”
Though the beef continues to entertain fans, Drake’s camp, led by Gordo, insists he has moved on and is simply enjoying life.
The drama may persist in pop culture, but Drake is happily moving forward.
