Devontae Beach, manager of EST Gee, was tragically shot and killed following the rapper’s homecoming concert in Louisville.
Devontae Beach, only 31 years old, was found dead in a car near the KFC YUM! Centre after suffering multiple gunshot wounds. The Louisville Metro Police Department received a report early Sunday morning, with officers arriving at the scene at around 1:30 a.m. Despite their swift response, Beach was declared dead shortly after by medical personnel. No suspects have been identified yet, and it is not clear if Beach was the intended target.
The concert, part of the Summer Jam event, had featured performances from big names like Lil Baby, 42 Dugg, and Yo Gotti. Despite enhanced security measures at the venue, this tragedy still unfolded. A spokesperson for the venue mentioned that the security protocols were intended to create a secure environment for everyone attending the concert, yet this incident has raised significant concerns.
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time someone associated with EST Gee has faced trouble. Gee’s former manager, Eric Mosley, was arrested by the FBI on drug trafficking charges. Mosley was not alone in this; several others connected to the rapper were also implicated. The gang Everybody Shine Together, with which Gee and Mosley are allegedly affiliated, has been accused of various criminal activities, including violence and drug-related offenses.
FBI Louisville Special Agent in Charge, Jodi Cohen, commented on the gang-related arrests: “While too many families have experienced unspeakable tragedies from the violent crime plaguing our city, FBI Louisville, LMPD, and other law enforcement partners are strategically focused on pursuing the most violent and persistent offenders. The gang members arrested last week have terrorized our communities for far too long, but they will be held accountable for their actions.”
Beach was more than just a manager; he was also a devoted youth football coach, touching the lives of many young people in his community. His death leaves a significant void, and many have expressed their condolences online. One user tweeted, “EST Beach was also a devoted Youth Football Coach in his free time, RIP 🙏🏾🕊️.”
While the community mourns, EST Gee has yet to comment on this heartbreaking incident. As investigations continue, people are left grappling with the loss of a man who was clearly influential and beloved in his circles.
As Louisville grapples with this shocking event, the community hopes for swift justice and peace. Devontae Beach’s legacy as both a manager and a coach will not be forgotten.
