GloRilla’s hit single ‘TGIF’ took a playful turn when she teamed up with Nick Kosir, the popular Dancing Weatherman, to give it a unique weather forecast remix. The two unveiled this clever rendition at Fox 46 in Charlotte on July 12.
During the segment, GloRilla started with, ‘It’s 7 PM Friday, it’s 95 degrees,’ referencing her track while Kosir jumped in with some rhythmic weather reporting. He rapped, ‘I ain’t got no sunburn ’cus I got sunscreen on me/ I’ma show my forecast for the rest of the week/ How are we gonna cool off? In this kind of heat/ Turn on all the fans/ Turn on the A/C.’ Kosir might just have a future in hip-hop if he ever tires of his meteorological career.
However, this isn’t the only spotlight GloRilla has found herself under recently. At billionaire Michael Rubin’s White Party in the Hamptons, she hit it off with none other than Lil Wayne. In a video posted on Instagram, Wayne praised GloRilla, saying she was ‘the only person who came up to me and really hollered at me.’
GloRilla didn’t let the love go unnoticed, reposting Wayne’s comments on X, formerly Twitter, and expressing her admiration. ‘I luv Wayne,’ she wrote, with heart emojis to boot. Wayne responded back with, ‘Appreciate ya @GloTheofficial,’ along with a hang loose emoji, solidifying their mutual respect.
Meanwhile, GloRilla has caught the attention of some serious music royalty. Rihanna slid into her Instagram DMs asking about her new album, even acknowledging the wait for her own next project. Rihanna showed her fandom by dancing to GloRilla’s hit ‘TGIF,’ further highlighting GloRilla’s rising influence.
GloRilla continues to skyrocket in popularity, making waves in both music and pop culture.
