Gillie Da Kid took to Instagram to mark the one-year anniversary of his son YNG Cheese’s tragic death. On July 20, he shared footage of a video billboard dedicated to his son, showing various moments from his young life. The tribute was both a celebration and a remembrance of Cheese, who was loved by many.
YNG Cheese, whose real name was Devin Spady, was killed in a triple shooting in Philadelphia. The 25-year-old was shot once in the back and rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead on July 23, 2023, at 8:39 p.m. Two other men, aged 28 and 31, were also shot but survived, being placed in stable condition.
In his post, Gillie expressed his deep sorrow, writing, ‘Long Live Cheese [crying emoji]. Miss u kid #WeGotChase.’ Despite the pain, he found some solace in the support from family, friends, and followers. When he broke his silence about his son’s death a week later, he shared a heartfelt message, saying, ‘I Miss u like $hit Dev… Thanks 4 all the support from family, friends, and all of my followers y’all really helping me get thru these ruff times.’
